Stephen A. Reed, CPA, MBA

President and CEO

Stephen graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and received his Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Entrepreneurship at Ball State University. Stephen has extensive public accounting experience working with federal and state government funded entities, private businesses of a variety of organizational structures, and individuals. These assignments included: overhead rate audits, contract compliance analysis, consulting, OMB Super Circular audits, reviewing government contracts and client representation in front of authoritative bodies.

Stephen is one of the firm’s founding Members. He has two decades worth of experience performing compliance audits and other consulting/special purpose engagements with governmental and nonprofit entities. Currently, Stephen is the President/CEO of the firm and is responsible for all attestation engagements. In this capacity, he performs the following:

  • Final review of files and all reports before issuance considering all disclosures required by GAAP & GAAS.
  • Plans and coordinates all attestation engagements.
  • Performs upper-management firm duties, as needed.
  • Coordinates management consulting government initiatives.
  • Coordinates overhead rate determination and governmental compliance audits.

Stephen helped the State of Indiana implement a compliance monitoring function as it related to financial transactions processed for the aged/disabled and mentally challenged recipient populations. Professional achievements also include acting as the primary auditor utilized to help determine professional billable rates for IAA projects.

Stephen is a member of the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA). Stephen is licensed to practice in the State of Indiana. Civic activities include, Stephen serving as the Past Chairman of the Board of the OK Program, Indiana Chapter, Treasurer of a local political campaign, Treasurer of the Ken Thorpe Foundation and Board Member of the Minority Division of Firms (DOF) Consortium.
